The Philadelphia Flyers may not be getting the most shots off, but they’re making them count. Despite a number of injuries to some of their key players, the orange and black have made the most of their depth to pull off back to back sweeps over the Devils and Islanders.

Phil Myers did return from his injury, but Sean Couturier and Morgan Frost each await their returns. However, the team has utilized the one thing they pride themselves in: their depth.

Shayne Gostisbehere returned to the lineup, and has looked to have returned to old form. Underdog Nate Prosser has taught us to “Trust the Prosser” with the depth this team truly has. Joel Farabee and James van Riemsdyk have been shining, while some have been faltering. Even with the team winning, Travis Konecny found himself on the bench as Sam Morin made his NHL debut at the wing position.

Some cornerstone players have also begun to hit some career milestones this past couple of weeks as well. Claude Giroux is proving his leadership. NHL veterans JvR and Jake Voracek are dishing out assists left and right.

They may not look like they’re best hockey, but as a result of their play, they sit atop some of the best teams in the league.
