Just in case we didn’t have enough tea to start today with, the Eagles announced on Monday Morning that they had cut offensive lineman Jamon Brown from their practice squad.

This may seem like a normal transaction, but according to Derrick Gunn, it’s anything but.

I’m unsure what ‘conduct detrimental to the team’ means, but maybe the coaching staff just round to watching the Ravens game where he sacked his own quarterback? Or maybe Brown tried it again in the lobby?

In all seriousness, this is concerning. With the pandemic not going away anytime soon, there’s a chance he tried to sneak someone into the hotel or something along those lines. If that is the case, it’s boneheaded and he deserved to be cut…although he should never have been re-signed to begin with after such a tragic debut.

The Eagles signed the former Falcons lineman back in September. As a former fourth-round pick, there was some reasonable expectation that Jamon Brown would be a viable depth piece moving forward. Those hopes were extinguished the second he stepped on the field.

Here’s to hoping the reason for his dismissal was nothing too damaging to the team or indicative of an imploding locker room.
