As we look to fill the void left by the NHL suspending action, Flyers Alumni President, Brad Marsh, has been working to give some aspect of hockey to the fans. Introducing “Flyers Decades,” a virtual roundtable look at the great moments in the history of Flyers Hockey:
The concept is a simple one that Marsh has been working on for months with his team, The Flyers Warriors. This was done to fill the void left by not being able to practice. Every Wednesday and Friday night, Marsh brings Flyers Alumni into Zoom meetings to tale to the Warriors. Marsh is the head coach of the Warriors. The meetings are a wonderful time of player stories that relive the journey from youth hockey to the NHL. From experiencing these meetings, I must say you want, no you NEED to be part of this. A fly on the wall to listen to wonderful stories about your favorite team and players.
The stories bring you into the lives of an NHL player as they reminisce about their years as a player in the greatest city. Follow along as they relive the 1987 Stanley Cup Finals.
Marsh initially teased that he would leak out the lineup one by one. Well, in his excitement, he released the lineup in one twitter video:
Not to worry, Marsh had plenty of surprises up his sleeve. He hinted that there would be more guests and he was right. Marsh announced that former Coach Mike Keenan and J.J. Daigneault would join the call. Then NHL Historian Liam Maguire would co-host with Bill Clement. Lastly, NHL Hall of Famer Mark Messier is slated to join. This is going to be epic!
