The Lehigh Valley Phantoms had a three-game weekend to start off the month of November, in which they earned three out of a possible six points.

On Friday night, the Phantoms took on the Wilkes Barre-Scranton Penguins and forced a shootout to earn one point in the 4-3 loss. Then, the Phantoms headed to Bridgeport to take on the Sound Tigers for two games; earning a 3-2 win on Saturday, but a 4-3 regulation loss on Sunday. Their loss on Sunday was their first regulation loss of the 2019-2020 season. Although their 8-game point streak game to a close, Morgan Frost, J-F Berube, and Nicolas Aube-Kubel still put on stellar performances.

Morgan Frost

By the end of the weekend, Frost extended his point streak to a whopping 7 games. His first point of the weekend came when he recorded an assist on Andy Andreoff’s goal on Friday night. On Saturday night, he tallied his third goal of the season, a back-handed beauty which would tie the game for the Phantoms eventually leading to a win. His fourth goal of the season came against the Sound Tigers on Sunday, extending the point-streak to 7. Currently, Frost sits at 9 points (4 G, 5 A) in 10 games.

Jean-Francois Berube

Goaltender J-F Berube led the Phantoms to a 3-2 win against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on Saturday in his second start of the season. He now has two wins in two starts, and was a major factor in helping the Phantoms extend their point-streak to 8 games. He made 26 saves on 28 shots, and earned a .929 save percentage. The Phantoms, coming from behind, had to rely on Berube to keep the third period under control, and he did just that when he robbed Parker Wotherspoon to keep the Phantoms ahead. His impressive performance was crucial to the Phantoms sole regulation win of the weekend.

Nicolas Aube-Kubel

Aube-Kubel put on a show in the Phantoms three game weekend, specifically against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. Aube-Kubel scored his second and third goals of the season this weekend, including the go-ahead goal to give the Phantoms the lead in their win on Saturday. Although the Phantoms could not rally together a win on Sunday, Aube-Kubel also scored during this game. NAK currently sits at 5 points (4 G, 1 A) in 10 games this season.

The Phantoms are back in action on November 6th, 2019 to take on the Wilkes Barre Scranton Penguins. Puck drop is set for 7:05p.m. at the PPL Center.
