John Rinnier shoots….scoresssssssssss top shelf, “Where Momma Hides The Cookies.” John was once a hockey player, and a damn good one at that, according to his friend and teammate in Brian Fioretti.

Not only was he a good hockey player, but he served his country in the United States Coast Guard. He was a reserve on the weekends, and even completed a year tour in Cuba.

Rinnier loves to play with his daughter Kaylee, and enjoyed the simple things in life. Unfortunately, he is now being treated for an aggressive brain tumor. Rinnier recently completed 30 days of Proton Therapy, with a 30 day rest period before he started Chemotherapy last month.

John traveled over an hour each way for his Proton Therapy, combined with being unemployed at the time of diagnosis last November. His family bills are obviously through the roof as one could imagine. Rinnier is also out of work until he completes his Chemotherapy in August.

Well, Rinnier’s friend and teammate in Fioretti has come to Rinnier’s rescue and has set up a “Puck Cancer” Tournament in Sewell, NJ on May 11, 2019, at the Choice Arena. Registration for this event was $440 per team, and is sold out. The first game on May 11 will start at 730 am, and the last game will conclude at 830 pm. Raffles for gift baskets will be available, as well as, T-Shirts with all proceeds benefitting the Rinnier Family.

Admission to this event is free, and is sponsored by the Philadelphia Flyers. You can find more information about John Rinnier and the event on the facebook page of, “Puck the cancer John Rinnier Benefit Dek Hockey Tournament,” or you can simply donate on a gofundme page on Twitter on the link below. God bless you John, your family, and friends.
