Game Two and the Electric CBP

For game two we decided to make a family trip to the ballpark to witness the electric atmosphere of the ballpark. The Braves jumped out to a 3-0 lead, however the Phillies were just getting started. I recently tweeted out that I learned of my wife having a crush on JT Realmuto. Well my wife’s new favorite player didn’t disappoint. he started the comeback with an RBI single in the second. Then he hit a 2 run homer that sent the place, and apparently ladies all across the Delaware valley, into a frenzy. Maikel Franco blasted his second of the year staking claim to the most powerful 8 hole hitter in the big leagues.

Now it was Harper’s turn. My wife sent me to get the kids ice cream, so I didn’t get to see the blast. That doesn’t mean that I didn’t witness it. While standing in line with my son, we watched on the monitors as the count went 1-1. Then the roar of the crowd told us that it wasn’t just Bryce’s first hit that we missed, that his first hit as a Phillie was special. I turned around and witnessed the excitement. I also witnessed disappointment in the eyes of every husband/ father that was standing in line instead of at their seats.
