Philadelphia Union kicked off their 10th season in style. The club hosted fans and media to a party to launch the 10th season inspired away kit. The night was filled with merchandise, food and drink and player appearances.
An amazing venue:

The Philadelphia Union held the kit launch party in a newly renovated space inside the Wharf building which holds the teams offices. The club transformed what once was a normal business lobby area into a breathtaking venue. Walls were plastered with murals of the Union logos, there was funky blue up lighting, a stage area, dj space, a cafeteria with pop-up bars, a FIFA station and a mini store selling the new merchandise.
The venue gave off a different vibe. This gave the team a truly professional look, one that impressed the fans, and media alike.
Of course a huge part of this venue and party was about the merchandise.

This kit launch party had 10th season everything on sale for fans. It was the first time the new 10th season inspired Kit went on sale. The kit was obviously the hot ticket item, but there was a lot more there. Tee shirts, hoodies, hats and beanies all with the 10th season logo were available for purchase, as well as some other merch. usually in the Union Shop.
The party was riddled with fans wearing the new merchandise. Many fans got the new jersey with the customizable back-tag on them.
While the party was the first time fans could get the kit and other 10th season merchandise, a lot of the attention went to special guests at the event.
Player appearances:
Homegrown’s Matt Real, Mark McKenzie and Auston Trusty were in attendance. New signings Sergio Santos and Marco Fabián were also present, meeting the Union fans for the first time.
The players we modeling the 10th season inspired away kit. Like the fans, the players were able to customize their jerseys with one of the 10 back-tags. The players this season will be able to wear any/all of the back-tags during the games this season. This is a very cool addition to the one-of-a-kind back-tags.
The players were not only there to be models; they were also put to work!
Interviews and autographs:
All five players met with fans, gave some interviews and signed some autographs. Sergio Santos was introduced to the Doop song, as Matt Real and Mark McKenzie got the crowd to sing the song for the new striker. The look on his face was one of shock, but after a few minutes he was doop-ing along with fans.
Auston Trusty had a great one-on-one interview with Fox 29’s Sean Brace. Durring the interview, a young fan came up to him holding a sign that said “Trusty the Process” Trusty was flattered and signed the sign after the interview.
Marco Fabian was introduced to the Union fans by Technical Director Chris Albright. Marco put on the new inspired kit to the applause of the fans. He then took the mic, to let everyone know that he came here to win, and that he already feels at home in Philadelphia. As he left the stage, fans serenaded him to the tune of “Who loves you Marco? We do!”
The night was a huge success, but words can only do so much. Here’s a look into all that happened last night!
A look into the night:
Philadelphia Union's kick off 10th season with Kit Launch Party!
On to the end of preseason:
The Union now have a few more days at home before heading back down to Clearwater Florida to finish preseason. The team will travel down south on Monday. They’ll spend 11 days in Florida playing four more preseason matches. With the roster complete the club will have something they have not had in a long while, time to gel.
With positive vibes at an all time high surrounding this club, I expect the team to be roaring to go when the Calendar turns to March 2nd and the MLS season kicks off!
