2020 3-star SF Jalen Bridges talks Penn State, names top 5

Jalen Bridges is a 2020 3-star small forward who plays for Fairmont high school in Fairmont, West Virginia. He is 6-7 180 long and athletic. He has three point range and has a quick first step to the basket. He is the 3rd ranked prospect in the state of Virginia, 38th ranked small forward, and the 223rd ranked prospect in the class of 2020. He had a talk with me for Philly Sports Network about his recruitment and interest in Penn State.

 

LJ: What have been the stats of your best game this season?

Jalen: I had 35 points one game but I feel like my best all-around game was when I had 14 pts, 6 rebs, 5 assists, 5 stls, and 5 blks.

 

LJ: What have coaches told you about your game that they like?

Jalen: They like that I can play both sides of the floor and my versatility

 

LJ: What team are prioritizing you this early?

Jalen: WVU and Duquesne.

 

LJ: What upcoming visits do you have scheduled?

Jalen: I’m going to Xavier soon and official to Dayton in Feb.

 

LJ: Do you have any top teams at this time?

Jalen: Top 5: WVU, Dayton, Xavier (even though no offer), Duquesne and Penn St.

 

LJ: What did you average last season?

Jalen: 18, 6, 3, 2.

 

LJ: What makes you an impact player?

Jalen: Playing defense and offense and not being a one-dimensional player.

 

LJ: What teams that haven’t offered are showing you interest?

Jalen: Xavier, Cincy, Wisconsin, TCU, Georgetown, Alabama, Michigan, San Diego St.

 

LJ: What stands out about Penn state?

Jalen: The atmosphere is crazy and the campus is crazy. Coach Chambers has done a great job building up the basketball program!

 

LJ: When do you plan to visit?

Jalen: Probably after AAU.

 

LJ: Any players playing now for Penn state you are close with?

Jalen: No.

 

LJ: What are scouts seeing this year that has improved about your game?

Jalen: Ball handling and Strength.

 

LJ: When do you plan to commit?

Jalen: Next September or early November

 

LJ: What schools do your parents and you both like?

Jalen: Xavier, WVU, Penn St, Dayton, and Duquesne

 

LJ: What has to stand out the most for you to commit to a school? What are you looking for in an ideal fit?

Jalen: I need the school to be one that I can thrive in as a basketball player and a student; I’m looking for a family atmosphere and a school that focuses on getting me better as a person and player!
