Philadelphia: When you do something that has a long-lasting effect, there have to be actions taken and that is what happened on Monday.
The Philadelphia Wings announced on Monday that they have “permanently removed” announcer Shawny Hill following “offensive comments” that were said during the Wings game on Saturday night vs Georgia Swarm.
Here is Video of the situation as you can clearly hear Shawn Hill saying “Let’s snip the ponytail,” directed at Swarm player Lyle Thompson, a Native American.

Because of his actions, Hill has also been suspended from all in-arena announcing assignments at the Wells Fargo Center including his role as Flyers in-game host.
The Philadelphia Wings will return to game action on Saturday, January 19 when they take on Buffalo Bandits at 7:30 PM on PHL 17 & streaming on B/R Live from Buffalo. The Wings are looking for their first win on the season as they are 0-4.
