Philadelphia: We are in the first week of 2019 & College Basketball is in conference play and the action is starting to heat up, let’s take a look at what we got going on in the City 6
Temple:
Fran Dunphy & the Temple Owls are 11-3 on the season & they are coming off a 1-1 week which saw then fall to UCF and take down Wichita State in OT. The 11-3 start is the best start for the Owls since the 2010-11 seasons.
The Owls will not get ready for battle with Undefeated & 17th Ranked Houston on January 9 & also take on South Florida on January 12. Both games are at home for the Owls.
Villanova:
Jay Wright & the Villanova Wildcats are 11-4 on the season and went 2-0 last week as they took down DePaul & Providence
This week the Wildcats will take on #24 Ranked St John’s on January 8 at Villanova & then head on the road for battle with Creighton on January 13.
Penn:
Steve Donahue & the Penn Quakers Stand with a 10-5 mark and went 0-2 last week which included losses to Monmouth & Princeton. Penn is on a 3 game losing streak, their last win was on December 22 when they took down New Mexico
this week, the Quakers will look for Revenge as they take on Princeton on January 12 at the Palestra.
Drexel
Zach Spiker & the Drexel Dragons are 7-10 on the season & try to get things turned around in 2019, Last week, the Dragons would go 1-1 with win over Elon & lost to William & Mary.
This week, the Dragons will be on the road as they take on College of Charleston on January 10 & UNCW on January 12.
LaSalle:
Ashley Howard & the LaSalle Explorers are 3-10 on the season & will try to make things better in 2019. Last week the Explorers would take down UMass on January 5 to open Atlantic 10 Play
This week, the Explorers will battle VCU on the road on January 9 & then come home for an encounter with Saint Louis on January 12.
Saint Joseph’s
Phil Martelli & the 7-7 Saint Joseph’s did not get off to the start in 2019 they wanted, they went 0-2 last week with losses to George Mason & George Washington.
This week, the Hawks will take on St Bonaventure on January 9 & Duquesne on January 12, both games are on the road
