Sunday recap: Saint Joseph’s walk off Win vs Loyola Chicago at Palestra

Philadelphia: An interesting battle came took place on Saturday Night as the Saint Joseph’s Hawks took on Loyola Chicago Ramblers from “the Cathedral of College Basketball” The Palestra on the campus of the University of Penn. Saint Joseph’s comes into the game off a loss to Villanova on December 8 while the Ramblers enter battle with the Hawks off a win over Benedictine on December 18.

In the first half, both teams would have bad shooting as this game would be very low scoring and costly mistakes as the Hawks would take a 20-16 lead at halftime. Everyone in the crowd was thinking that are we going to see the same thing in the second half.

The Saint Joseph’s Hawks would have a lead of 7 points in the second half as they lead 34-27 with 9:57 left. The Ramblers would make a comeback and they would tie the game at 42 with 14 seconds left on 3 pointer byMarques Towns

The Hawks would come down and hit the game-winning shot by Lamarr Kimble as the Hawks would steal this game from the Ramblers 45-42.

With the win, the Hawks now go to 6-5 on the season & Ramblers fall to 7-6 on the season. The Hawks will have 1 more non-conference game as they take on Wagner on December 29 and then they will open Conference play on January 3 vs George Mason. The Ramblers will look to rebound from this game as they take on Indiana State on January 2 to open Missouri Valley Conference play.
