Flyers Weekly Mailbag: What are the odds of hiring Joel Quenneville?

It’s unbelievable how flat the Flyers came out on Wednesday night, against a Buffalo Sabres team that was supposed to be behind the orange and black in terms of the rebuild. Hopefully, the orange and black can feast on the New York Rangers, post Thanksgiving on black Friday.

The Flyers were supposed to take the next step in the rebuild this season. Unfortunately, with the Goaltending uncertainty, thanks in large part due to injuries. They have not gotten off to the start that this young team had hoped. It’s time, it’s time more than ever for the real Flyers to stand up, and right the ship towards a level of consistency. Without further delay, here are our answers to your questions.

I definitely understand the frustrations of Flyers fans. That’s why I love this question so much. White meat is preferred, but beggars can’t be choosers. I would take either white or dark meat, whichever one is thrown my way. Hopefully, the Flyers come out today and play the game of their lives against a hot New York Rangers team.

Lou God bless you and your family. Thanks so much for your continued support. Without you this site doesn’t exist today.

At the moment it appears no. However, due to the level of inconsistency with our Goaltending situation, I would absolutely be on board with obtaining a reliable, steady netminder. The Goaltending inconsistencies have been one key contribution to the Flyers lack of success this season. Every single Goaltender at some point has been inconsistent, which spells .500 hockey for a team that was supposed to take the next step in terms of their rebuild.

Michal Neuvirth is slated to return in December. Can He stay healthy? Who knows.

Jacalore thanks so much for your continued support. Without you this site doesn’t exist. Hopefully, the Flyers are able to right the ship today.

The Flyers were supposed to take the next step in terms of the rebuild this season. However, it’s been anything but. Yes, injuries are a large part of the inconsistencies for this team this season, but every team has an injury or two. This type of play cannot continue, and the orange and black should be better than a borderline .500 team right now. There are no excuses, and I will not accept any in this case.

If the orange and black lose to the New York Rangers today, and the Toronto Maple Leafs tomorrow, than I personally believe Ron Hextall will dismiss Dave Hakstol. It’s the easiest move to make, although I think they have a larger problem than just coaching. These inconsistencies, stretch much farther than Hakstol in my opinion. Only time will tell. I will let you know Tuesday when I’m in the press box for the game.

Thanks very much for your continued support. I hope you and your family had a blessed Thanksgiving. Without your support this site doesn’t exist. Stay safe throughout this Holiday season.

The odds are stacked in favor of hiring of Joel Quenneville. If the Flyers lose today to the New York Rangers, and tomorrow to the Toronto Maple Leafs, than I personally believe Ron Hextall WILL fire Dave Hakstol Saturday or Sunday. It’s just got to happen.
