Let’s go Flyers duh-duh-duh-da-duh, Let’s go Flyers duh-duh-duh da-duh. Let’s get this off-season party started already. The proud orange clad fans can’t wait until June 22 for the start of NHL Draft.
The Flyers could stock the cupboard with two more quality first round prospects if they so choose with the 14th and 19th picks in this years Draft, or General Manager Ron Hextall could decide to move up in the Draft to select a Power Forward or a Defenseman with a lot of upside. The suspense is killing most people already. Without further delay, here are our answers to your questions.

Michael thanks for the post. You’re a smart and dedicated Flyers fan. I love your thoughts about trading for Erik Karlsson. I can’t say thank you enough for all your support. Unfortunately, Ottawa will want the house for him. It will most likely take at least a few firsts, an NHL ready Defenseman, maybe two prospects, and maybe a third or fourth round draft pick. I’d bet they would look for Philippe Myers or Travis Sanheim as opposed to Wayne Simmonds. Simmonds stock may have dropped due to all his injuries, with that came a sub par season.
Brady Tkachuk would be an awesome fit in Philadelphia. He has the hands, skating, and hockey IQ to make things happen on the ice. If I’m Ron Hextall I’m at least trying to move up to possibly snag this young stud. The Detroit Red Wings are perfect trading partners. Moreover, the question is what would they like to receive in return? Most likely the Red Wings would want the Flyers two first round picks (14 and 19), a prospect like Wade Allison or German Rubtsov, maybe Taylor Leier, Jordan Weal, or Wayne Simmonds, and maybe another prospect. I don’t know how much Simmond’s stock has dropped due to his injuries, so he may not be a bargaining chip anymore. Moreover, you have to give in order to receive an NHL ready prospect.

Darby you’re a passionate die-hard Flyers fan. You have stood with them through thick and thin. You sure know your hockey. My top free agent that Ron Hextall should sign is John Carlson. With the cap expected to raise to around 75-80 million dollars. Carlson can and should be signed to at least a two-year deal, with an annual cap hit of 6.5-7 million dollars. If the Penguins series showed us anything, it’s that the Flyers are in dire need of a good Right-Handed Defenseman to pair with Ivan Provorov. A Defenseman that can be relied upon to log big minutes effectively.
What do yoi expect out of the draft? Any mock trades this offseason? Skinner a possibility? What to do at d and goalie

Flyersguy your an amazing Flyers fan. I love our conversations in regards to the team. You know your hockey that’s for sure. Thank you for the support. If the Flyers do not move up in the draft. They could select Forward Barrett Hayton at 14, and RHD Bode Wilde at 19. Wilde may drop a little bit.
2nd Round- LW Anderson Macdonald, RHD Jett Woo, or LHD Kiandre Miller (if he falls)
3rd round- No picks
4th round- Forward Riley Stotts or LHD Christian Krygier
5th round- Center Zach Solow (Former player of the year in 2016-17 for the Dubuque Saints)
6th round- ?
7th round- ? (2 picks)
I cannot predict any trades in the off-season. Unfortunately, I’m only decent with trades at the draft, as we correctly predicted the Flyers to move up and select Isaac Ratcliffe in last years draft, before the draft began. Below are a list of players to watch for the purpose of trading, and players to watch via trade for obtaining.
Flyers Players To Watch-
Wayne Simmonds, Jakub Voracek, Radko Gudas, Andrew Macdonald, Jordan Weal, Taylor Leier, Michal Neuvirth
Players to Watch for the purpose of obtaining-
Dougie Hamilton
Hopefully, Ron Hextall is able to make a splash for a very good Defenseman in RHD John Carlson. That would instantly upgrade the top Defensive pairing. Ivan Provorov and Carlson are two very good Defenseman, and would compliment each other quite well. This would instantly make the Flyers possible contenders. If this plan fails, plan B should be an acquisition for LHD Calvin De Haan or RHD Mike Green. Plan C should be a trade for RHD Defenseman Dougie Hamilton. In goal, I can see the Flyers rolling with a tandem of Brian Elliott, and Alex Lyon to start the season. Will Carter Hart make an appearance at some point? It’s a possibility, as you never know with injuries. But, I would stand pat with our current crop of goaltenders (Minus Michal Neuvirth and Petr Mrazek), as Carter Hart is the future of this franchise.
Your top free agent Acquisition?
