Your 2018 Metro Champs?
Well, if the date was December 2nd, I would have told you no way. But, today, I would absolutely yes.

The Flyers have been on a hot streak since December 2nd and have used that stretch to propel themselves from last in the Metro to 2nd. During that stretch, they are 25-8-3.

However, it has been the month of February that has everybody asking, Is this team good enough to win the Metro? The answer to that is yes.

The Flyers are currently riding a 11-game point streak that has moved them from playoff bubble to Metro Division contender. During this 11-game stretch, the Flyers are 9-0-2.

With their recent surge, the Flyers sit only 1 point out of the Metro Division lead. The final 20 games are going to be real fun.

Nolan Patrick
What a month of February for the rookie. Nolan Patrick has finally found his stride after a slow start to his rookie season. However, there were factors to the slow start.

During the off-season, Patrick had a surgery similar to two current Flyers, Claude Giroux & Shayne Gostisbehere. If you remember last season, Giroux & Gostisbehere struggled early last year dealing with the pain from the recovery from the surgery. But, right around the midway mark of the season, they both turned it on.

Patrick looks like he is doing the same. Ever since Patrick was promoted to the Flyers 2nd line, he has been on a tear. In 13 games as the Flyers 2nd line center, Patrick has 6 goals and 3 assists.

That is a tremendous turn-around from the 3 goals and 6 assists he had in his first 40 games.

One thing is for certain, the kid is drowning in confidence at the moment. Which is great for the Flyers playoff push.

What A Debut
After sitting out game 1 as a Flyers, Petr Mrazek is proving to be a tremendous pickup for the Flyers. After a stellar performance in his 1st game, 19 saves .950% & 1.00 GAA, Mrazek had another good performance in his 2nd game.

Saturday against Ottawa, Mrazek gave up 3 goals in a 25 save performance. However, 2 of the 3 goals came in the final three minutes with the Flyers up 5-1.

If Mrazek can keep this up, the Flyers will be a dangerous team at the right time.

It shows what a winning team and one that appreicates you can do for a struggling young goalie.
