Jeffery was added to the injury report yesterday with an ankle injury and was limited in practice. That carried over to today’s action where Jeffery was once again not a full participant. Doug Pederson met with reporters today and seemed hopeful that his star wideout would play.

“Yeah, this time of the year we’ve got a lot of players that are nicked up.” Pederson said. “He’s just one of those guys. He’s got a little ankle [injury] right now, getting treatment on it. Wanted to get some added rest. And Ertz the same way. Feeling good and had a really good week so far of practice. But in Alshon’s case, just, again, this time of year with everybody being a little sore and nicked up, just wanted to give him a little extra rest.”

Jeffery has 500 yards and 5 scores this season for the Birds, but has been sensational in the last two games. Combining for 146 yards and 3 touchdowns, the former Chicago Bear has been simply outstanding. It’s a long road ahead and missing Jeffery for one game may not be the end of the world. If he is absent, expect contributions from Mack Hollins and Marcus Johnson.

Meanwhile, Ronald Darby is finally set to return to action. Sidelined with an ankle injury since week one, Darby is now ready to go on Sunday against the Cowboys. This will be a huge addition to the Eagles secondary that will finally be nearing full strength after suffering injuries at Safety and corner throughout the season. It’s unclear how much game time Darby will see, but the former Buffalo Bill will be a welcome addition to the team.
