It’s been a bumpy Monday for the Philadelphia Eagles despite coming off of an impressive win over the Redskins. Ronald Darby’s horrifying ankle injury wasn’t as serious as first expected, but the under-the-rardar injury sustained by Caleb Sturgis leaves the Eagles in a tough spot.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter has reported the full extent of the injury, noting that the Eagles will be without their kicker for four weeks.

On Sunday, Caleb Sturgis connected with multiple 40+ yard kicks for the first time since November last year, despite an early missed extra point. Doug Pederson spoke briefly on the injury today, simply stating that the team are waiting for more news and will workout some kickers throughout the week.

The injury carries even more weight however. Last night, the Eagles Head Coach revealed that the injury to Sturgis fueled the decision to go for the two-point conversion late in the game to seal the deal.

The Birds need a new kicker and fast. Will they turned to former second-round pick, Roberto Aguayo, or instead look at Josh Lambo or Mike Nugent? There are several options open to the team, but they need to act fast with a trip to Arrowhead looming.
