Well this is going to be fun.

By now, many of us have read Lane Johnson’s personal message to Eagles fans in an article written by the Right Tackle for The Players’ Tribune. Passion, guts, determination and an underdog mentality are all present in the franchise tackle’s mindset as he opens up on Carson Wentz, his suspension, and what to expect from the team moving forward. It’s a brilliant article that lights a fire in the belly of fans as his suspension appears to have sparked one in him.

In the article, Johnson references the motivation heading into the week one showdown with their divisional rival, the Washington Redskins. Let me tell you what’s going to happen in a couple of weeks: This team is going to go down to D.C. and whup some ass against the Redskins. We’re going to surprise some people.” said Johnson. This kind of fighting talk will only motivate more Eagles fans to take a trip to Washington and cheer on the Birds in what promises to be an explosive matchup…but now there’s another element to the game.

Johnson’s article appears to have also sparked a fire in the belly of Redskins linebacker Zach Brown. After signing with the Redskins following a pro-bowl season in which he amassed 149 tackles, 4.0 sacks, 1 interception and 2 forced fumbles, Brown didn’t take kindly to Johnson’s statement.

It’s personal. Will Lane Johnson ensure his guarantee of an Eagles victory comes to pass, or will it be Zach Brown who has the last laugh? Let the games begin.
