This Saturday, January 14th, the Philadelphia Flyers and Pittsburgh Penguins alumni’s will be facing off to celebrate the Flyers 50th anniversary. The game will take place at the Wells Fargo Center and the puck drop is at 7 PM EST and will be aired on Comcast Sports Network. The roster was released yesterday and boy does it make me reminiscence:

Brian Propp-Dave Poulin-Tim Kerr
Simon Gagne-Danny Briere-Todd Fedoruk
Murray Craven-Orest Kindrachuk-Bob Kelly
Joe Watson-Jim Watson
Brad Marsh-Mark Howe
Luke Richardson-Eric Desjardins
Terry Carkner-Kjell Samuelsson
Brian Boucher
Neil Little
We will see the Legion of Doom and the infamous Stanley Cup winning “LCB” line in action once more, and that is always a reason to be excited. Brian Propp will take to the ice again too just 16 months after a stroke that left him unable to speak. Mr. Playoffs, Danny Briere, will be making an appearance for the Fly Guys as well reuniting with old linemate Simon Gagne. The Penguins have also released their roster for the game which includes Bryan Trottier, Colby Armstrong, Ryan Malone, Greg Malone, Dave Hannan, Troy Loney, Jamie Leach, Phil Bourque, Dennis Owchar, Francouis Leroux, Kim Clackson, Doug Bodger, Jocelyn Thibault and Jean-Sebastian Aubin.
Notable Penguin Alumni Mario Lemiuex, Mark Recchi, Ron Francis, and current Penguins assistant coach Rich Tocchet are not able to attend.
Proceeds will from the game will benefit the Flyers various charitable and community based organizations.
Comcast will be broadcasting the game on CSN as well as live streaming on CSNphilly.com and the NBC Sports Live Extra App. While the Flyers maybe on a roller coaster ride right now we can all take a deep breath and enjoy ourselves Saturday.
