According to ESPN’s Adam Caplan, the Philadelphia Eagles are set to work out two players of the Philadelphia Soul on Monday.

This is surely going to be the icing on the cake for WR Darius Reynolds and DL Jake Metz, who were just last night crowned ArenaBowl champions for the second time in the team’s history.

Howie Roseman has been reported as looking to add a playmaker on Offense, Darius Reynolds will be a player looking to fill that void. At 6’2 and 205 pounds, Reynolds led his team in receiving this year, racking up 1,447 yards and 38 touchdowns on 112 receptions. The 27-year old originally signed with the Packers after going undrafted in 2012, but found his calling in the AFL. Reynolds joined the Soul in February, a move that worked out perfectly for both himself and the team.

The birds could also need some depth on the Defensive line and trying out someone as physically imposing as Jake Metz. The 25-year old possesses a 6’6, 265 pound frame that screams explosiveness..something he demonstrated emphatically this season in the AFL. Recording 29 tackles, eight sacks, forcing two fumbles and a further three pass breakups in 2016 was enough for Metz to be named the AFL’s Defensive Lineman Of The Year. He also led the league in tackles for a loss.

Schwartz wants raw pass rushers who can burst through the trenches..and Metz ticks every box on the list, but can he do it at the NFL level? This won’t be the first time that Metz has worked out with an NFL team, nor will it be the first time he has worked out with the Eagles. An undrafted free agent in 2014, Metz has worked out with several NFL teams prior to committing to the AFL.

This isn’t the first time that the Eagles have dabbled in the Soul’s roster, they signed Anthony Jones back in 2012 to their training camp roster before eventually releasing him.

The Eagles have until August 30th to trim their roster down to 75, will either of these two AFL standouts make the cut?
