It’s been a busy day for the Philadelphia Eagles and it shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. According to Ian Rapoport, the Eagles aren’t just willing to listen to offers for DeMarco Murray, but also number two running back Ryan Mathews.

This does come as a surprise considering that Doug Pederson noted previously how he felt that Chip Kelly misused the three running backs by trying to make them act as one. Having encountered a similar situation in Kansas, Pederson could be the perfect coach to get the most out of what’s currently a very versatile and diverse backfield.

The question is, what’s the plan in Philadelphia? If that’s Pederson stating he’s ready for the challenge if it presents itself, it doesn’t mean that the Eagles would rather be facing a different situation.

Rapoport also claims Mathews is only available for the “right price”..which again is heavily dependent on what Howie Roseman determines his value to be. Roseman has been very impressive in the Off-season so far and this could well be a sign of the trend continuing.

Mathews picked up 6 touchdowns, 539 yards on 106 attempts in 2015 after a rollercoaster season that saw him go from battling injury to taking the most snaps in the position. A dominant and elusive downhill runner who quickly won the hearts of Eagles fans amidst the Murray struggle.

But after numerous conflicting reports regarding the happiness and future of DeMarco Murray, it is somewhat difficult to take this as 100% correct, although the likeliness of it being true is much more plausable than the idea of the Eagles trading an “unhappy” DeMarco Murray.
