Tobin was thrust into the deep end following a lack of Offensive Line depth last season with mixed success and it’s clear that the Line definitely needs some help. The 6″6 Guard signed with the Eagles after going undrafted in 2013 and started five games in 2014. With Mathis and Herremans released, Tobin was left to fight with Barbre over the right guard position before eventually being thrown back into game action as the season progressed.
It’s a smart move by the Eagles to secure some depth at the Offensive Line which was something that was desparately needed last year. By building from the ball out, they can work up in building blocks and draft the players who can go on to lay the foundations of the line and if things do go wrong or injury strikes again, then there’s always a player who has had plenty of experience starting in Philadelphia.
Tobin’s tender is worth $1.67m and other teams can offer deals to Tobin should he not accept the deal, but only the Eagles can match incoming offers.
