According to an Instagram post from the man himself, The Philadelphia Eagles have signed wide receiver Seantavius Jones.

The caption reads: “Blessed!!!! It may not always work out as planned the first go around. But if you get that second chance to do something legendary you better take it on full speed”

Jones has spent the last two season with the New Orleans Saints on their practice squad after going undrafted and whilst being called up to the 53-man roster on numerous occasions to act as the fifth receiver, rarely saw the field. The 6″3 wideout was hyped up massively by beat-writers but was placed on the waivers 10 days ago.

Jones appeared in a total of three games during the 2015 season but was prominent on special teams. Whilst he started the season on the active roster, he ended it on the practice squad. He was listed as inactive for the Saints final 3 games of 2014 after spending the opening 13 games with the practice squad

The Valdosta State product shows good size and length and whilst impressing in practices in both off-seasons, he never had the opportunity to break into the receiving core of the Saints.

In 2012 he recorded a career high 13 touchdowns on 51 receptions for over 900 yards for Valdosta and currently ranks eighth on the teams career touchdown receptions list with 20.

Judging by the Eagles other two moves today (signing a CFL Corner in Aaron Grymes and a Quarterback in McLeod Bethel-Thompson), it would be safe to say that the Eagles are wasting no time in signing talent to evaluate this off-season..which is evidently well and truly underway.
