There has been a lot of about the future of Jason Peters in Philadelphia. The 34 year old had injury struggles this season and is going to earn $9.7 million in 2016. Whilst the Eagles could save $6.7 million by cutting Peters, Doug Pederson has other ideas.

“I think JP has several years good years left in him,” Pederson told NJ.com. “I think he does the right things in the offseason to get himself ready to go for another year. Really looking forward to visiting with him, sitting down and talking to him. Seeing where he is at, then motivating him for the next year.”

There is no doubting Peters’ ability and he has been one of two strongholds in what was otherwise a weak Eagles Offensive Line. With 12 years of experience under his belt, Peters has been fundamental in the success of the Offense and earned yet another Pro-Bowl nod this year. But according to reports, he also suffers from a degenerative back injury which can surely not bode well considering his age.

When talking about how the Eagles can manage their cap space, many include Jason Peters in the list of players they would release…it looks like that may not be the case heading into 2016.
