Doug Pederson met the media today for the first time as Head Coach of the Philadelphia Eagles and there was certainly a lot to discuss after himself and owner Jeffery Lurie had stepped away from the podium but one thing that didn’t get mentioned was Pederson’s contract…but a few crucial details are beginning to emerge.

The Eagles claimed they wanted stability at the Head Coach position and if this is anything to go by then that’s exactly what they will have in Doug Pederson.

The length of the contract also seems to signify how confident the team are in their new Head Coach..a five year deal would imply that Jeffery Lurie is ready to play the long game and stand behind Pederson for five full NFL seasons which is a long time if things aren’t going swimmingly.
