It might not have been the night that the Chiefs had envisioned but for the Eagles, it means that they are now free to seal the deal and officially hire Doug Pederson as their new Head Coach.
Following the Chiefs’ loss to the Pats earlier tonight however, former Eagles wide receiver Jeremy Maclin opened up to the Dellaware News Journal about seeing his Offensive Coordinator return to the team Maclin was playing for just a season ago.
Maclin on if Pederson is ready to be head coach: "110%. He deserves it." #Eagles

Humble as always, Maclin was still very much adored by the fans after leaving Philadelphia to join Andy Reid in Kansas and after a season under Pederson, he seems very confident that the Eagles have made a good decision.
Whilst it’s not Maclin, Chiefs star Travis Kelce also sung his praises..
Travis Kelce said Pederson ready to become #Eagles' coach. "The guy works harder than anybody I’ve ever seen." https://t.co/TqhVqFXHxL

It’s nice to see Maclin so humbled despite being just moments removed from a heartbreaking loss to the New England Patriots, ending their season, their hopes of reaching the Super Bowl and their eleven game winning streak.
But with the Pederson era lurking just around the corner..it’s interesting to see that there hasn’t really been any negative comments from players/personnel that have worked with him.
