Former Eagles running back set to re-sign with Philadelphia

With both Byron Maxwell and Bennie Logan expected to be put on the season ending IR list this week, the Eagles would have two free roster spaces…but now it appears they may only have one.

Kevin Monangai who was cut before the 75 man roster was announced has published a post on his Instagram today hinting at a return to Philadelphia.

The Eagles already have four running backs who have all been active on game day so it’s interesting that they would bring Monangai back over addressing a position of need. But still, Kevin impressed hugely in pre-season ending with 126 yards and a touchdown against the Ravens. On just 21 carries as he averaged 6 yards per rush. He had a big night against Baltimore despite an early fumble but at one stage had 9 carries, 84 yards and a touchdown…not a bad record right?

The Villanova star was catching attention from across the board but much like Rasheed Bailey there was simply too much competition at the position..nobody was to foresee the failure of DeMarco Murray or the struggles of the backfield as a whole..perhaps this is Chip’s first step in righting those wrongs.

We will do our best to try and catch up with Kevin Monangai in the coming weeks but until then stay locked in on our site for the latest Eagles roster news.
