The Eagles were dealt a cruel hand last night when cornerback Byron Maxwell went down after a hard hit early in the game. During half time he was looked at multiple times and he was listed as questionable before returning to the game later on. However the latest news appears to spell worst case scenario for the Eagles.

After going for an MRI today, the first reports are beginning to surface. It’s no real surprise that Maxwell has been reported to have a shoulder sprain (could be an AC Joint) and is likely to miss the game against the Redskins this weekend.

However with Nolan Carroll already out for the season and Eric Rowe sustaining a concussion, this could mean we see undrafted rookie Denzel Rice make his NFL debut in arguably the Eagles most important game of the season.

Maxwell has had a few minor injuries this season but as inconsistent as he’s been, the Eagles could really use him this weekend.
