The explosive campaign of Jordan Hicks’ rookie season has been cut short. After sustaining an injury on a tackle against Cole Beasley, Hicks seemed optimistic of a rapid recovery..but apparently his MRI has dictated otherwise.
According to Jay Glazer from FOX Sports, the Eagles have placed the standout linebacker on Injured Reserve for the rest of the season following a torn pectoral muscle, ending his phenomenal rookie season after just eight games.
The Eagles third round pick was not only regarded as one of the best prospects in the team but perhaps at his position overall. The inside linebacker recorded his first ever pick six just moments before the tackle after enjoying weeks of big plays.
Hicks ends the season with 50 combined tackles, 7 sacks, a forced tumble and two interceptions with one going for a #HicksSix
With Hicks out, the Eagles will turn to Kiko Alonso who played less than 30 snaps on Sunday Night after returning from a knee injury picked up in week 2.
