Two key players miss Eagles practice

After Tuesday’s practice the Eagles looked arguably the healthiest they have all season. After injuries have plagued some big name players since week 2 onwards, Kiko Alonso, Mychal Kendricks, Nelson Agholor, Jason Peters and DeMeco Ryans all practiced fully..but today both Peters and Ryans missed the action.

Jason Peters went down with a non-contact injury against the Panthers and was carted off the field with back spasms. Chip said that Peters was not supposed to practice on Thursday but the tackle reportedly strapped on a helmet and partook in a few drills, today that was not the case as he sat out practice but is still hoped to make an appearance on Sunday Night.

It will be a return that Eagles fans will be crying out for after Matt Tobin and Dennis Kelly failed to stop the Panthers pass rush and the lack of Peter’s leadership appeared to cause some miscommunications and inconsistencies.

DeMeco Ryans missed the entire game against the Panthers and despite practicing on Tuesday also missed todays action.

Kiko Alonso practiced for the second day running, furthering expectation that he will play this Sunday. The extent of how much action he will see remains unknown however with Defensive Coordinator Billy Davis claiming that “it’s a challenge, but a good challenge to have” when asked if all four inside linebackers could take snaps on Sunday in todays press conference.

Nelson Agholor also practiced for a second consecutive day alongside fellow wideout Riley Cooper and Brandon Bair.
