Eagles special teams ace makes huge play against Saints

In the list of unexpected things that happened during week five, a surprise performance from one Eagles linebacker was certainly one of them.

With the Eagles linebacker core being tested to its bare bones, Bryan Braman was put into the lineup late on in the game. The special teams ace made one tackle, but that tackle was a sack on Quarterback Drew Brees.

In the grand scheme of things this went under the radar but when you zoom in a little closer, the repercussions are clear. Jordan Hicks enjoyed another huge game as did the rest of the thinly spread core…except Marcus Smith who is still yet to find his feet in Philadelphia.

Braman is one of the toughest men in the NFL, don’t believe us? Watch this incredible show of tenacity from his days as a Texan.

The sack not only his first EVER solo sack in the NFL, but it showed that he’s not just dominant on special teams..a reassuring sign for an Eagles linebacker core already missing two key pieces with the risk of losing more as the season wears on. Braman has shown this kind of ruthlessness throughout his career and with plenty of league experience under his belt, may just be ready to make the step up to help out the Eagles pass rush.
