Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz missed all four pre-season games due to a partial groin tear suffered in Pre-Season. It was expected that Ertz would be sidelined for week one so he’s fully recovered for the remaining 15 games but it appears he may well step out onto the field.
Dr. William Myers completed the surgery back on August 14th to repair the damage and it looks like it’s been 100% successful. Ertz featured fully during practice on Saturday and whilst it was said to be a gametime decision, more and more signs are pointing towards the projected breakout tight end playing against Atlanta.

However we’re not saying that Ertz is definitely going to play. It’s hugely encouraging that he is on the field warming up and that he participated in practice but from a fans stand point..it’s a long season. 16 weeks of hits and physicality. I would much rather see Ertz rest this week knowing that Trey Burton is more than capable of covering after such a big pre-season and see Ertz return a week later fully healed and ready for the remaining 15 weeks. We don’t want to see a Dez issue happen to Ertz.
