Eagles sign undrafted Receiver Michael Johnson

As if the Eagles training camp didn’t have enough noise already, the team announced earlier today that they have filled roster spot number 90 with undrafted rookie Wide Receiver Michael Johnson out of Delaware.

Johnson presumably replaces Boykins roster spot but interestingly becomes yet another receiver vying for a 53 man roster space. The position is already congested with the likes of Miles Austin, Rasheed Bailey, G.J Kinne amongst others trying to make the roster. The birds have a very deep selection of players at the Wide Receiver position, that’s proven by all the speculation that someone as experienced as Riley Cooper could well lose his spot come week one. It’s probably the toughest position to break into in the team currently as there is more competition than any other, one more spoke on the wheel will definitely be interesting to watch. Kelly obviously knows what he’s doing and it’s not the first time he’s made a surprising signing..

In his four college seasons with the Blue Hens, he scored 14 touchdowns and received for 2,325 yards on 182 catches. He was also voted as the teams MVP in his senior year.

His chances of making the cut are undoubtedly slim, but not impossible. It’s another man for Bradford and Sanchez to aim for in Training Camp but he may well show something special. After all, his highlight reel is pretty impressive..
