Sean Couturier has signed a six year deal worth $26 million dollars to secure his long term future with the Philadelphia Flyers.
The best part is that the contract will not start until next year, meaning he will be playing at the Wells Fargo until 2021-22. By extending his deal it also shows complete faith in the man who was drafted 8th overall in 2011.
Whilst Berube wasn’t his biggest fan, the 22 year old has showed plenty of promise in the four years he has been with the team. Last season saw the defensive forward score 15 goals with 22 assists, a career high as he appeared in all 86 games. Now just two games away from the 200 mark, he actually has the third longest streak behind Voracek and Schenn according to CSN Philly..the other two free agents that the Flyers are yet to re-sign.
