The Philadelphia 76’ers have made plenty of headlines recently with the Embiid saga and the Summer League appearances of Jahlil Okafor. It appears that trend will continue as sources report the Philly team have shown considerable interest in restricted free agent and two time NBA Champion Norris Cole. The Point guard is subjected to a matched offer by the New Orleans Pelicans for any team that submits one however.
In his career, the 26 year old has played in over 300 NBA games, starting just 37. After winning two championships with the Heat, he was traded to New Orleans last season where Cole worked up his career average of 6.6 ppg and 2.6 apg. Shooting 41% from inside and 32% outside, Cole could be the Point Guard that the Sixers need.
After being backup to Jrue Holiday, Cole could well be seeking a move for more minutes. If the Sixers were to sleep on this deal, it would mark the third year running that the team have not signed a free agent in the summer.
