Lecavalier makes way for Jason Akeson in finale

The Philadelphia Flyers have called up forward Jason Akeson to replace the injured Vinny Lecavalier in the final game of the season against the Ottawa Senators.

Mark Alt was also called up under the premise of on an emergency.

Akeson actually began his 2014-15 season with the Flyers after a pleasing training camp. However he averaged just over seven minutes of ice time in twelve games and failed to record a point before being sent back to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.

In 53 games with the Phantoms this season, Akeson has racked up 22 goals and 29 assists for 51 points.

Meanwhile, Mark Alt made his NHL debut with the Flyers in a 3-2 shootout loss to the San Jose Sharks back in march, logging under ten minutes of ice time. Alt has played almost 40 games for the Phantoms, recording two goals in the process.

Lecavalier, who is still recovering after some big blows a few nights back with an upper body injury will finish the season with a career-low eight goals and 20 points in 57 games.
