CONCACAF gets Philly Fever

CONCACAF announced earlier today that PPL Park, home of MLS team Philadelphia Union has been selected as the host venue of 2015 Gold Cup Third-Place Match. The game will be played on Saturday, July 25 at 4PM. It is first time in 12 years that the Gold Cup will feature a third-place match. The final is also held in Philadelphia and will take place the day after at the Lincoln Financial Field.

Taking place every two years, the Gold Cup has become the region’s most popular national team tournament. Essentially providing what the UEFA EURO series can to this region, the Cup Features the Confederation’s best players from 12 top nations. Capacity crowds are to be expected but if you can’t make it to a game there will be extended television coverage.
