After a strong fight a few days back The Phillies were able to finish the job away from home and take down the New York Yankees 3-1 win to claim their first win of the Grapefruit League.
It was Odubel Herrera who stole the show, obtaining three singles and scoring two runs, with the second being the one to send the Phillies into a 3-1 lead in the seventh. After stealing second, Herrera scored on a single by Aaron Altherr. Altherr has now hit an RBI in three consecutive games, if you include the pre Grapevine shock loss against the University of Tampa.
Herrera, who the Phillies signed in December’s Rule 5 Draft, has been turning some heads throughout spring training, running the bases extremely well.
The Phillies will be back in action and looking to make it two wins in a row on Thursday against the Astros at Osceola County Stadium.
