The bromance between Mike Trout, Carson Wentz and Zach Ertz has long been documented. A New Jersey native, the six-time MLB All-Star is a die-hard Eagles fan and after making some appearances in the stands throughout the year, he even sported a dog mask in the Birds’ emphatic NFC Championship win. What was lesser known to some however, was that Trout met with some of the players after the game.

“I saw some of the guys after the game and told them to go get it.” Trout told reporters via a conference call on Tuesday. “There hasn’t been a Super Bowl in Philadelphia, it’s time to go get it.”

Team talks from Kobe Bryant AND Mike Trout?! Even I want to run through a wall at this point. One man who won’t be on the field to help them bring the Lombardi Trophy to Philadelphia however is Carson Wentz. The Eagles quarterback has become close friends with the 2x AL MVP and the duo share quite the bond off of the field.

“Just the person he is.” Trout said when asked about what makes Wentz so special. “He’s really nice and fun to hang out with. He’s down to earth and he’s one of those guys who just fits in.”” He works hard at what he does. He wants to be really good at quarterback. I don’t really give him much advice. Once we’re off the field, we just hang out and get our minds off of Football and Baseball.”

Whether it’s gestures like giving the Los Angeles Angel a game ball…

…or maybe going hunting together…

the pair have built quite the rapport over the last 12 months. Trout isn’t the only Angel to be rooting for the Eagles in the Super Bowl now either.

“A lot of people doubted them.” Trout said. “A lot of players on the Angels doubted them, they gave me a lot of grief all the time. They’re all rooting for them now because they’re going against Tom Brady.”

Finally, the man who fans are clambering to come home once his contract expires, made his Super Bowl prediction. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that he picked the Eagles either.

“I still think the Eagles are gonna pull it out and win 31-24 due to a late interception by Tom Brady.”

We’ll find out if Trout’s prediction comes true in two weeks when the Eagles clash with the New England Patriots, a game that Trout is likely to be attending. But will he ever play Baseball in the City of Brotherly Love? That’s an answer that may take a little longer to figure out…
