The Philadelphia Flyers are looking for their third consecutive win and a sweep of their California road trip tonight as they take on the Anaheim Ducks.

The Flyers closed out a dismal 2022 calendar year with a victory over the Los Angeles Kings. Throughout 2022, the Flyers had the worst points percentage in the NHL. They’re seventh in the Metropolitan Division while the Ducks are last in the Pacific.

Anaheim Ducks (10-23-4)

Tonight’s game in Anaheim is the fifth of a ten-game homestand for the Ducks. The Ducks have only won three in regulation out of their ten victories. They were dominated in their most recent matchup on Friday versus the Nashville Predators, 6-1. Bolstering a young roster, it’s going to be a while until the Ducks become mighty.

Troy Terry (12G, 19A) leads his team with 31 points. He also leads the Ducks in shots on goal, averaging 20:03 of ice time. His presence will guide Anaheim’s top-line and first powerplay unit.

Mason McTavish (6G, 14A) will center the third line. He was the third overall selection during the 2021 NHL Entry Draft and captained Team Canada to the 2022 World Junior Championship. McTavish is finding his footing in the NHL with 20 points on the season as one of the many young players in the Ducks’ lineup.

Here’s the tentative lineup for the Anaheim Ducks:

Henrique-Zegras-Terry
Comtois-Strome-Silfverberg
Vatrano-McTavish-Leason
White-Carrick-Megna

Fowler-Kulikov
Benoit-Klingberg
Vaakanainen-Shattenkirk

Philadelphia Flyers (13-17-7)

Owen Tippett (12G, 8A) has been feeling himself during the California trip. Notching points in both games, Tippett is contributing on both sides of the puck. He’s growing into his power-forward potential and is getting used to the style of play that is expected of him.

Nicolas Deslauriers (1G, 4A) will make his return to Anaheim tonight. Deslauriers spent three seasons with the Ducks, spanning from 2019-2022. He ranks second in the league in hits (153) and penalty minutes (64,) leading the NHL in fights (8.)

Samuel Ersson (2-0-0, 3.58GAA, 88.5%SV) will get his third straight start tonight. Carter Hart is activated from injured reserve and passed concussion protocol, but John Tortorella is sticking with the hot hand.

Here’s the tentative lineup for the Philadelphia Flyers, per Olivia Reiner:

van Riemsdyk-Frost-Tippett
Farabee-Cates-Konecny
Hayes-Laughton-Allison
Deslauriers-Brown-MacEwen

Provorov-Ristolainen
Sanheim-DeAngelo
York-Braun
