The Philadelphia Eagles have confirmed their 53-man roster ahead of the 2025 NFL season. The team trimmed its roster from 90 down to 53 over the course of the weekend following another important Summer of practice down at the NovaCare Complex.
Here’s a look at your 2025 Philadelphia Eagles.
Quarterback (3)
Jalen Hurts, Tanner McKee, Sam Howell
No real shocks here…unless you went on vacation for 2 weeks and are suddenly wondering why on earth Sam Howell is on the Eagles. Philadelphia traded for the former Commanders quarterback last week following concerns that Tanner McKee’s injury would be a little more serious than first anticipated.
McKee should still return promptly, but Howell gives the Eagles a more valuable QB2 than what DTR or Kyle McCord would provide. Interestingly, McCord was waived, with his preseason efforts not deemed worthy enough of a spot on the 53. The team will likely be looking to stash him on the practice squad if he passes through waivers.
Running back (3)
Saquon Barkley, Will Shipley, A,J Dillon
This is simply a brilliant three-headed monster, headlined by arguably the best running back in football. Dillon will fill-in for Barkley in short-yardage situations when he needs a break, while Shipley is in-line to get the broader share of carries and pass-catching looks behind Saquon.

Fullback (1)
Ben VanSumeren
Tight end (3)
Dallas Goedert, Grant Calcaterra, Kylen Granson
Dallas Goedert retains his TE1 spot for another year, surviving the trade rumor noise of this past offseason. Behind him, the Eagles have a player who has steadily been developing in Grant Calcaterra, and a proven vet in Kylen Granson.
Wide receiver (5)
A.J Brown, DeVonta Smith, Jahan Dotson, John Metchie III, Darius Cooper
The Eagles have gone pretty light at receiver, with Metchie and Cooper backing up last years’ starting trio. Hopefully, that depth should never really be tested.
In a slightly surprising move, they did waive Ainias Smith, whom they drafted last year. He wasn’t overly flashy in preseason, but did have some special teams upside. It is great, however, to see Darius Cooper make the roster as a UDFA in such a crowded receiving corps.
Offensive line (11)
Jordan Mailata, Lane Johnson, Landon Dickerson, Cam Jurgens, Tyler Steen, Brett Toth, Fred Johnson, Matt Pryor, Drew Kendall, Trevor Keegan, Cameron Williams
This has been a position of hot debate recently. The Eagles brought back veteran backup Fred Johnson shortly after acquiring Sam Howell, to fill in a depth hole that only grew as preseason wore on. Kenyon Green, who was traded for this past offseason? Gone. Kendall Lamm? Gone. Hollin Pierce? Gone.
Stoutland University retains some of its star pupils, while giving looks to young guns like Kendall and Keegan, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see some more movement here between now and the end of the season.

Edge rusher (5)
Nolan Smith, Jalyx Hunt, Azeez Ojulari, Ogbo Okoronkwo, Joshua Uche
Again, no real shocks here. The position looks wildly different to last season, but Ojulari looked the best this offseason out of the new additions to the room, giving Philly a flurry of strong edge rushers at their disposal. Uche and Okoronkwo should provide some valuable depth.
Defensive tackle (6)
Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis, Moro Ojomo, Ty Robinson, Gabe Hall, Byron Young
Maybe the most dominant position on the entire roster? Carter and Davis are at an elite level, and Ojomo is quickly ascending the NFL ranks. Rookie Ty Robinson makes the roster and should have a sizeable impact during his first year.
Linebacker (4)
Zack Baun, Jihaad Campbell, Jeremiah Trotter Jr, Smael Mondon
It’s genuinely crazy how quickly the linebacker position has gone from one of the worst in football to one of the best. Baun and Campbell will be a special duo in this City, and Trotter Jr. looked like he came on leaps and bounds this Summer. It’s also nice to see Mondon in the rotation, with the rookie primed for special teams upside.

Cornerback (6)
Quinyon Mitchell, Cooper DeJean, Kelee Ringo, Adoree Jackson, Jakorian Bennett, Mac McWilliams
The CB2 battle never really got settled, but the Eagles are bringing all 3 contenders into the fold, having released Parry Nickerson. Rookie Mac McWilliams will act as the backup nickel corner behind Cooper DeJean, and the Eagles do have some good veteran depth with Jackson and Bennett.
Safety (4)
Reed Blankenship, Drew Mukuba, Sydney Brown, Tristin McCollum
The Eagles are rolling with Blankenship and Mukuba at Safety, ahead of Sydney Brown and special teams ace Tristin McCollum. The depth is solid, but I wouldn’t be shocked to see another edition.
Specialists (2)
Jake Elliott, Braden Mann
