After suffering an injury scare during last night’s public practice at Lincoln Financial Field, Eagles‘ LG Landon Dickerson underwent an MRI. The results of which cast some doubt over his availability for the beginning of the season.

According to Adam Schefter, Dickerson sustained a meniscus injury and is currently exploring options for next steps.

This is obviously a killer blow to the Eagles. Dickerson is now a three-time Pro Bowler and a key cog in arguably the best offensive line in football. The Alabama product was graded by PFF at 79.2 for the 2024 season, allowing 5 sacks in 995 offensive snaps.

As far as a timeframe, it’s all up-in-the-air as of right now as we don’t know how severe the injury is. The severity of this setback and whether or not its a tear, even partially, is going to shape whether or not Dickerson needs surgery or is able to try and solder through it. We know how tough the 26-year-old is and it would take a lot to keep him sidelined, but given how important he is to this team, veering on the side of caution and ensuring his health is the the priority is absolutely the right call.

For now, there will be opportunities for players like veteran Matt Pryor, or a young player like Trevor Keegan, to prove that they’re worthy of stepping up if Dickerson’s injury requires a longer recovery time.

Hopefully, Dickerson can make a quick and full recovery.

**UPDATE**

Adam Schefter reported on Monday afternoon that the upcoming procedure is a minor one and that the goal is for Dickerson to return by the season-opener against Dallas. If this timeline is met, that’s a close shave and incredibly lucky for both Dickerson and the Eagles that the injury wasn’t more serious. We can thank our lucky stars for that! But for now, we wish all the best to Landon during and after his procedure.
