The pads were off, the tempo was light, and the session wrapped in just under 75 minutes, but there was still plenty to take away from Tuesday’s Eagles training camp practice. From rising rookies to veteran flashes, the day had no shortage of standout moments. The offense found its rhythm in spurts, the defense made its presence felt, and a few under-the-radar names continued to make noise as roster battles heat up. Here’s everything that stood out from the field.
Eagles Offense:
Jason Kelce continues to set the tone even in retirement. On Monday, he was out on the field working with rookie Laekin Vakalahi after practice. On Tuesday, he stuck around again, this time giving pointers to Hollin Pierce. That’s the type of impact Kelce will have long after his final snap.
Elijah Cooks flashed again. He had one of the plays of the day on Tuesday. A catch-and-run over the middle that he took 12–15 yards into the end zone. He’s stacking good days.
AJ Dillon had some juice, too. He juked a defender in space and picked up a chunk gain after the catch. He moves well for a man his size.
There’s a real connection forming between Jalen Hurts and Jahan Dotson. They linked up for a clean touchdown in red zone work and seemed in sync most of the day.
Darius Cooper continues to make noise. He had another strong day at Eagles Training Camp, and is building a legit casen for himself as one of camp’s surprise standouts.
Dallas Goedert was active and effective, snagging a touchdown in the back of the end zone off a perfectly placed throw from Hurts. They made it look easy.
Tanner McKee found Will Shipley on back-to-back throws during situational red zone work, capping off the drive with a smooth rollout to his right and hit Shipley for an easy walk-in touchdown. Clean rep all around.

Hurts threw a beauty down the sideline to DeVonta Smith. A perfect placement, 20-plus yards, and a walk-in touchdown. It came against Josh Uche, who will not likely be covering receivers like Smitty during the season.
Eagles Defense:
Moro Ojomo looks like a problem. He got into the backfield so fast on one rep that the ref blew the play dead before contact. It would’ve been a clean sack on Hurts. He’s playing with serious juice right now.
Reed Blankenship was sticky in coverage on Tuesday. He jumped a route and came away with a clean interception.
Hurts tried to force one into tight coverage for Dotson. The ball was tipped and nearly picked by Kelee Ringo, who came crashing in and couldn’t stop his momentum. He ended up plowing through a sideline official, who thankfully popped up and finished practice.
Andrew Mukuba saw his first action since the third practice of camp and made it count. He had a strong rep against Tanner McKee, breaking up a pass intended for tight end Kylen Granson. Good to see him back in the mix.
Azeez Ojulari got a steady look with the first-team defense during 11-on-11, and he made the most of it on Tuesday. He appeared to beat Eagles’ starting LT Jordan Mailata off the edge and forced Jalen Hurts into an off-platform throw that fell incomplete in DeVonta Smith’s direction.
Smael Mondon Jr. had a nice moment in coverage, locking up Saquon Barkley on a route that looked like Hurts’ first read. Hurts waited on it for a couple of beats before moving on. That’s a win for the rookie linebacker.
Cooper DeJean played safety and intercepted Jalen Hurts in that role. It is clear they want to find as many ways to keep him on the field as they can.
For now, all eyes turn towards the Eagles’ preseason opener against Cincinnati on Thursday.
As always, thank you for reading!
