The Philadelphia Eagles took to the field today for a Sunday morning scrimmage down at the NovaCare Complex. With all eyes now on next week’s preseason game, the importance of these reps cannot be understated. Here’s everything you need to know:
Eagles injury report
The injury report continues to grow as a slightly interesting pattern of hamstring patterns emerge. The most notable player to miss today’s practice was of course, star wideout, A.J Brown. But like most injuries on this list, the less we hear about them, the better. As far as we know, they’re all minor and likely a case of Philly protecting its players as camp intensity picks up.
With that said, Terrace Marshall continuing to miss time doesn’t bode well, although it does give opportunities to underdogs like Elijah Cooks, Ainias Smith, and Johnny Wilson – all names who need to maximize every opportunity they get.
Don’t count him out
While Adoree Jackson took reps with the starters again on Sunday, and Kelee Ringo was able to make a big play against Dallas Goedert, one interesting to note is Eli Ricks.
A lot of the attention has been placed on the CB2 battle, and rightly so, but depth is more important than ever. Ricks can play both inside and out (valuable for those scenarios where Cooper DeJean heads to Safety), and the more hungry young corners waiting in the wings to make a play when the regular season rolls around, the better.

Ricks has plenty of experience in this Eagles defense now, and reportedly worked out with Derek Stingley Jr. this past offseason. While a starting role seems out of reach, a key depth role and special teams duties should be well within reach, completing the cornerback depth chart.
Rookie underdog to watch
The DT3 spot looks to have been essentially settled, with Moro Ojomo drawing all of the praise through the opening few weeks of camp, but a 4-man rotation in the middle is key for this Eagles defense, which means that rookie DT Ty Robinson has a real opportunity to make a mark in his first NFL campaign.
He’s had a fairly quiet camp as far as media reporting goes, but standing out on a would-be sack today is a positive sign for the Nebraska product. He’s absolutely going to be another name to watch in the preseason contests and his impressively athletic skillset could be immensely valuable if he can find his footing early.
Speaking of the trenches, Josh Uche popped up with another big play. The savvy veteran could have a substantial role to play in 2025 with a lot of the depth at EDGE being younger players. Uche joined Ojulari as a ‘budget’ stop-gap this offseason and appears to be settling in nicely.
A nice touch
While practice sounded a little quieter than usual, the music certainly wasn’t. The Eagles made a point of playing El Incomprendido, Jhoan Duran‘s walkout music. The new Phillies’ closer posted his first save for his new club on Friday night, and there’s nothing like some Brotherly Love to recognize the magnitude of his arrival.
