It was Military Appreciation Day down at the NovaCare Complex today as the Philadelphia Eagles completed their third practice of the Summer. Here’s all you need to know.
Eagles Injury report
The injury report looked very similar to the opening two days of camp. The same names have featured again, with the only two notables being Jalen Carter and Kenyon Green – both of whom have remained inactive throughout the opening phase of Camp.
We still haven’t heard any updates on Carter’s injury, which should at least reaffirm that it isn’t serious, although the more practices he’s listed, the more speculation will grow.
As for Kenyon Green, we did get our first look at the former Texan today. It will be worth keeping an eye on his progress and if he suits up in pads when the rest of the team do, or is still slowly being eased into the program due to the lingering setback.
One player who does intend to be padded up with his teammates is first-round pick, Jihaad Campbell. The Alabama product surprised many by getting on the practice field so soon, but today saw him take starting reps for the first time. It’s genuinely stunning how quickly he’s been able to get into the thick of the action given how loud the ‘injury’ noise was around the NFL Draft. A full slate of Summer practices and we could well be seeing Campbell fly around the defense during the season-opener.
QB competition ramps up
No, not Jalen Hurts. But the battle to backup the Super Bowl MVP is raging on. Dorian Thompson-Robinson turned some heads today while Tanner McKee did what he does best – let it rip with confidence. The two seem locked in to juke it out during the preseason for that newly-vacated QB2 spot, with the former Browns QB having more starting experience, but McKee bringing more familiarity with the team and its offense.
It’s going to be a really fun few weeks watching this battle commence and to see how much of a step McKee has taken. DTR is very much a grading scale for the Eagles’ draft-pick and if both quarterbacks shine this Summer, Howie Roseman will have an abundance of riches and could likely ship one of the players off in a trade to a QB-needy team in search of quality depth.
Defensive tackle

Jordan Davis drew plenty of attention following his press conference in which he revealed how much weight he’s cut this year, and that attention has only continued to grow. The Georgia product had his option-year picked up this offseason, so it’s a big year for him, and with no Milton Williams on the roster, the expectation is that Davis will establish himself more as a pass-rusher this year. So far, so good.
Elsewhere at the position. Moro Ojomo continues to be one of Philadelphia’s hidden gems. He’s developed really nicely over the last few years and looks primed to step into a larger rotational role in 2025, especially if he can keep making plays in practice.
Secondary shuffle
In today’s DB update, we saw more rotation from Jackson and Ringo as the two fight for CB2 honors, while all eyes remain at Safety to see how Cooper DeJean fairs in base packages. No real big news to come from the secondary today, but a continued push to move players around and see what they can do. Sydney Brown appeared to be one of the beneficiaries of that, and he too is in a spot where a big Summer is vital.
Rookie S Drew Mukuba took a knock at the end of practice according to Brooks Kubena, but did walk off the field following the collision with Danny Gray.

WR3 competition?
Terrace Marshall drew some first-team reps today following a very strong week of practice. The former Panthers wideout has made a positive impression on A.J Brown already, and that good form was rewarded with some first-team reps. Obviously, he won’t be displacing Brown or Smitty anytime soon, and he likely figures to be the primary WR4 backup for Brown due to his size. However, we could well see him sprinkled into some slot reps to give a change of pace behind Jahan Dotson.
