The Philadelphia Eagles are officially back to work. Day 2 of Training Camp took place today and while it’s still very early in the proceedings, there were certainly some things to note.

Injury report

The injury report mirrors what we saw yesterday. There haven’t been any updates on any of the players mentioned, so we can only assume that the setbacks are minor. Reporters also got to see Jihaad Campbell working in drills today which is another positive sign for his development. To think that so many NFL teams passed on him due to health concerns, and he’s sprinting around like a Gazelle in July, is absolutely wild.

Jalen Hurts is locked in

To the surprise of absolutely nobody, Jalen Hurts is already back to his very best. For those who have followed Eliot Shorr-Parks’ renowned QB stats for a while, you’ll know that the Super Bowl MVP is as surgical as they come in the Summer months. He’s showing no signs of allowing that to change anytime soon.

Secondary shuffles continue

After Kelee Ringo kicked off Day 1 as the starting corner opposite Quinyon Mitchell, veteran DB Adoree Jackson took over the reins today. With this position battle arguably being the most important on the entire roster, it’s nice to see the coaching staff affording both players the opportunities to turn heads and let the best man win.

We also saw Cooper DeJean line up a Safety yesterday, something that was then replicated today. Vic Fangio would clarify this decision in today’s press conference, explaining that he will also get some reps at boundary CB. In the interest of getting one of their best players on the field as much as possible, expanding Coop’s skillset and allowing his versatility to grow will be of immense value to the team in the long-run.

We might not see DeJean taking Safety reps full-time, but in moments of rotation and changing packages, knowing you have an elite player who can play solidly at multiple spots is a real ace to keep up your sleeve.

The Defensive Tackle opportunity

With Milton Williams now gone, the Eagles have an interesting positional battle at DT. Vic Fangio told reporters this morning that Jordan Davis would likely see some expanded snaps as a result of Milton’s departure, along with Moro Ojomo, Ty Robinson, and Gabe Hall – a full committee effort. One of those players, Moro Ojomo, turned some heads today by forcing Tanner McKee into an incompletion.

Ojomo has been a name that has quietly developed over the last few years and could be in-line to see a real boost to his snap counts in 2025. If he can continue to make plays at Training Camp, that will be a huge

Jiihad Campbell is ramping up

Perhaps the most exciting news of the day is that Jihaad Campbell is not only practicing in 11-on-11’s, but genuinely raising eyebrows with his athleticism. Again, for a player who many assumed could miss the start of the season, to be clearly nearing 100% so early into Training Camp is just remarkable. And now fans can begin to salivate over the pairing of Campbell and Baun.

Howie Roseman, you’ve done it again.
