The Philadelphia Eagles have received their final prize for their 40-22 dismantling of the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX back in February.
First was the exhilaration of winning the Super Bowl and denying the Chiefs a third-straight NFL title. Second, the fan-lined journey during the Eagles’ Super Bowl parade, where even general manager Howie Roseman emerged with memorable battle wounds following the party down Broad Street. Finally, the ultimate symbol of the accomplishment – the Super Bowl LIX Championship ring – was handed out to the Eagles in a ceremony on Friday night.
“Our Super Bowl LIX Championship Ring represents the commitment, determination, and sacrifice of every member of our organization who helped deliver another World Championship for Eagles fans everywhere,” stated Jeffrey Laurie, the Eagles Chairman and CEO. “From the start of Training Camp to our celebration on Broad Street, this team was deeply connected at every level. Our players, coaches, and front office worked so tirelessly throughout the season to raise another Lombardi Trophy.”
Championship Bling… with Wings?
Jason of Beverly Hills crafted the Eagles’ new bling. The symbol of victory measures 41 millimeters and features a total of 12 carats in diamonds. The Birds’ latest piece of jewelry is littered with references to a magical 2024 NFL season that began with a win in São Paulo, Brazil, and concluded in triumph at Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Each commemorative ring is inscribed with the athlete’s name and number on one side and his autograph on the bottom of the ring. Inside the ring are inscriptions with the playoff scores for each of the four wins, a Brazilian flag to honor the season opener in Sao Paulo, and the number 145, an NFL record for the most points scored by a team in a playoff run to the Super Bowl.
A 1-carat marquise-shaped diamond highlights the Lombardi Trophies peaking from behind a diamond-encrusted Eagles logo, a symbol of the pair of World Titles under Jeffery Lurie’s ownership. Those diamonds honor the Eagles’ No. 1 total defense and their rushing offense, which set an NFL record in 2024.
There are 40 points of diamonds in the World Champions on the front of the ring representing the 40 points scored by the Eagles during Super Bowl LIX. There are five diamonds on the special feature button to underscore the five Eagles who scored in the win – Jalen Hurts, A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, Cooper DeJean, and Jake Elliott. The special feature button opens a pair of diamond-encrusted eagle wings, accompanied by the often-quoted Nick Sirianni statement, “You can’t be great without the greatness of others.”
Several Birds in a Flock of Their Own
Elliott, Lane Johnson, Brandon Graham, and Rick Lovato were members of the Super Bowl LII Champions following their 41-33 win over the New England Patriots in February 2018. Each had their much smaller Super Bowl LII Championship Ring to showcase to the world on Friday night.
Graham had perhaps the biggest play in the game with a strip-sack of Patriots QB Tom Brady just before the two-minute warning in the fourth quarter of a 38-31 game. Elliott’s 46-yard field goal added the final points on the scoreboard before green and white confetti fell from the Minneapolis sky.
Training Camp Next Week
Despite a production delay, the Eagles received their championship rings ahead of the opening of 2025 training camp, which is scheduled to begin on July 22 at the NovaCare Complex in South Philadelphia. While much of the Super Bowl-winning offense returns to Philadelphia, a re-crafted defensive unit will be put to the test following the departures of Josh Sweat, Isaiah Rodgers, Darius Slay, C.J. Gardner-Johnson, and others.
Eagles coaches and players will have two weeks of football activities before the first pre-season game on the 2025 calendar. Philadelphia hosts the Cincinnati Bengals at 7:30 p.m. ET on Thursday, August 7. Tickets are still available for purchase on the Eagles’ website (via Ticketmaster).
