At long last, VJ Edgecombe, the No. 3 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, is set to make his Las Vegas NBA Summer League debut. The Sixers’ wing has missed the previous four Summer League games between Salt Lake City and Vegas with what has been called a thumb contusion, thumb sprain, before reaching its final evolved stage as a wrist injury.

Edgecombe was electric in his first and only game of the Summer League, totaling 28 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists. He looked fluid, dynamic, and completely ready for the moment.

As Edgecombe returns, Dominick Barlow‘s Summer League season ends. The Sixers recently signed Barlow to a two-way deal. Barlow originally asked to participate in the Summer League and has looked strong throughout.

As the Sixers prepare to face the Wizards, the matchup of the game was supposed to be Edgecombe against Tre Johnson, the No. 6 pick in this year’s draft. A battle of two electric, highly athletic wings is sure to thrill Sixers fans and reward them for their patience this summer.

Unfortunately, shortly before the game, the Wizards announced that Johnson would miss the game with hamstring tightness.
