Just days after Saquon Barkley revealed his faith as one of the biggest secrets behind his incredible debut season with the Philadelphia Eagles, the former New York Giants running back has now revealed another factor that fueled his dominant display against certain teams in the Eastern Conference last season.

Saquon Barkley doesn’t forget free agency snubs

At the fourth edition of DeVonta Smith’s Celebrity Softball Game, Barkley spoke about himself being motivated by the fuel of revenge when facing two Eastern rivals.

This is as a result of these two teams being among those who snubbed him while he exited the New York Giants as a free agent. Saquon Barkley, who deems himself attractive enough to attract the interest of the best NFL teams, claimed that neither the Washington Commanders nor the Dallas Cowboys reached out to him while he was a free agent.

“Nah, never heard a word from Commanders or Dallas,” Barkley said. “That’s why it’s BTA (belt to ass) when I see them.

In his three games against the Commanders (one in the postseason and two regular season affairs), while there was one more in the playoffs. Barkley rushed 26 times for 146 yards and scored two touchdowns in the first game, and topped it by rushing 29 times for 150 yards and scoring another two touchdowns in the second. In the playoffs, Barkley rushed 15 times for 118 yards and scored three touchdowns, as he took the Eagles to Super Bowl glory.

Against the Cowboys, he ran for a whopping 167 yards, as the Eagles crushed them. Interestingly, he’s not done yet. He’s willing to top these off with many more revengeful performances against these Eastern rivals, making them regret ever missing out on him.

The Celebrity Softball Game where Barkley made this revelation was the fourth edition of the annual event organized by DeVonta Smith as part of his way of giving back to society. This edition was held at Coca-Cola Park in Allentown, Pennsylvania. The star wideout was joined by Super Bowl MVP, Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley, retired Eagles’ player Brandon Graham, Darius Slay, A.J. Brown and other Eagles players, as they partook in the fundraising event.
