The Flyers didn’t have any picks in the third and fourth rounds of the 2025 NHL Draft but were back on the clock early in the fifth. With the 132nd pick, the Flyers select Max Westergard. Westergard is a 5’10 lw/rw shoots left. The 17-year-old is Swedish. He posted 50 points last season.
Philadelphia was back on the clock and selected at 157 overall Luke Vlooswyk. Vlooswyk is a right-shot defenseman that stands at 6’5. He has a 86% pass completion rate and has won awards for his academics.
Finally, the Flyers drafted at 164 Nathan Quinn. Nathan Quinn is a 5’10-5’11 center (shoots right). He’s currently with the Quebec Remparts (QMJHL) and is committed to Northeastern University for 2026–27.
After the draft Brent Flahr spoke and stated that the Flyers weren’t going for “size” as this was just one big coincidence that majority of the players happened to be 6’1 and above. Flahr went on to say that this was a successful draft and they’re (Flyers) pleased with who they got. Danny Briere wasn’t available to speak to media as he had to attend to other matters. He was rumored to speak before the start of development camp.
The Roster for development camp is below. Camp will be throughout July 2nd-July 6th with July 4th as an off day for team bonding.
