After selecting Porter Martone with the sixth overall pick, the Philadelphia Flyers made a trade with the Pittsburgh Penguins to acquire Jack Nesbitt, a 6-foot-5-inch right-handed center.
Flyers general manager Danny Briere told Nesbitt that he was his guy all along.
The trade with the Penguins included Philadelphia’s 22nd and 31st overall picks. While the first round is not yet over, it’s clear the Flyers are active in making sure they get the players they’ve had their eye on.
Nesbitt is not only big in size but also able to put up big numbers. This past season, he scored 98 points, 37 goals, and 61 assists in 57 games. He also finds himself in the penalty box a good amount of time, with 74 penalty minutes.
